For the price this was okay but I really reccomend Majestic Chess. It was one of the most fun games I have ever played because of it’s great adventure mode that makes chess much more fun. Championship Chess was just an average chess game to play against a computer and was no different than any other chess game I have ever played.

Customer Review: A switch from the ordinary
This is an excellent board game for someone starting to learn about Chinese Chess. I find it very hard to imagine why this game isnt more popular in America. The board is sturdy and the chess pieces are beautifully crafted (warning- they have only Chinese characters on them). However, for those who are learning about the game, buy a book on Xiangqi because instructions are scarce. Also, find someone willing to learn with you. Then we can have two kinds of chess on American soil.
Customer Review: Good quality set at good price
When I traveled to Hong Kong I bought myself two xiangqi sets, one at a hardware store for about $1US and one from the Ladies’ Market in Kowloon for about $6US hich is exactly like this one. I’m very happy with the quality of the board and pieces. The board is veneer but is nicely made and holds the pieces very snugly with a magnetic latch. The quality of the pieces is very good in terms of size, weight, quality of the characters and paint job. These heavy plastic pieces are much nicer in quality than the wooden pieces I’ve seen in several similarly priced sets. It may seem outrageous to pay $30 for something I bought for $6 but that is about the best price you can get online for a similar quality board and pieces shipped to the US. Cheaper sets tend to have much cheaper quality boards with similar or worse quality pieces. As such I find this board from YMI to be a good value.
